New seasonal dessert: sweet potato gyoza with yuzu jam
Our wonderful Nanami - new addition to our kitchen and by training a pâtissière - has made a new seasonal dessert that we always keep on the menu under the name "The whim of the chefs".
Starting today, we have a small, crispy gyoza-style pastry bag filled with sweet potato, handmade of course, and topped with a small dollop of (also homemade!) yuzu jam... wow!
Our "Journey to Japan in January" menu was such a great success with many guests that we decided to offer it to them as well.
Dōmyō-ji-ko (道明寺粉) is a special rice flour used in Japanese cuisine, especially for preparing sweet dishes
Admittedly - we're a bit late this year.... and now there were also problems restarting the website
It is often said that Japanese cuisine is not for eating, but for looking at.
Whoever sees that freshly cooked, pure white rice, how it lets warm steam rise from under the quickly lifted lid, how it lies piled up in the black vessel and how every single grain shines like a pearl, will, if he is a Japanese, really feel the awe of the rice.
