Those who know us know that we at SUSHIYA love Bentō, The wonderful tradition of Japanese takeaway meals, which is unfortunately almost impossible to find in Munich—at least if you really value Japanese flavor and the highest quality ingredients.

In the past, we have repeatedly shown all kinds of bentō variations: from simpler bentō as a small giveaway at a trade fair, about great wedding bentōs at the customer's request, or even wonderful, very Elaborate Fukiyose bentō for the Japanese Consulate General in Munich.

Autumn Bento 2025 for pickup or delivery

We are now preparing a lovely little autumn bento for our customers, which can be pre-ordered for Saturday, September 27, and Sunday, September 28, at lunchtime—for pickup or delivery.

The bento will cost €55 including miso soup and dessert, and will be available for pickup or delivery on Saturday, September 27, and Sunday, September 28, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Spontaneous orders will hardly be possible, so please order NOW.

Please let us know the exact time of delivery, thank you. As before, we offer a choice between the beautiful Japanese reusable box and an equally beautiful Japanese disposable box.

As summer quietly passes and the trees begin to change color, a cool breeze blows down from the mountains. Fallen leaves gather as if carried by the wind—this seasonal moment is captured in a bentō box.

In Japanese cuisine, each season has its own treasures, and autumn is particularly considered „harvest time,“ when the flavors of the mountains and sea reach their peak. This bentō was designed to bring together these autumnal gifts in an elegant box.

 

The season in a Japanese box

 

Steamed rice is served with dried red shiso and bright yellow pickled vegetables, reminiscent of golden rice fields at sunset.

Tempura shrimp and autumn vegetables are crispy and light—like the sound of walking on fallen leaves.

Seasonal starters—fig purée with sesame vinegar, tofu salad with chestnuts and mushrooms, shiitake sushi, and mackerel sushi—are served in the traditional Fukiyose Arranged in a „leaves-in-the-wind“ style, they resemble colorful autumn leaves gathered together by the wind.

Rolled omelet and braised root vegetables provide warmth and comfort, with slices of lotus root symbolizing the autumn moon.

 

Fresh sashimi and wrapped delicacies reflect the richness of the autumn sea.

Opening the bentō is like opening a window onto an autumnal landscape. Every bite carries the colors, sounds, and spirit of the season.

Chef Mikuriya's „Autumn Blow-Leaves Bento“ is not just a meal, but also a little journey into the beauty of nature's transition. When the last bite has been enjoyed, the feeling remains of having walked along a quiet autumn path.
