For Whit Sunday and Whit Monday 2026, we are preparing a new, seasonally inspired Bentō at lunchtime. Our Easter Bentō 2026 has already been very well received, now we are curious to see how you like the next version of Japanese seasonal cuisine in a box.
As always, this bento is not just a food box, but a small Japanese menu to discover: many different flavors, textures and preparation methods, carefully arranged in a beautiful bento box.
The Bentō is offered as a set menu - with soup and dessert - for collection or delivery.
Please order in advance: spontaneous orders on the day of delivery are unfortunately not possible.
Whitsun Bento 2026 for collection or delivery
PLEASE ORDER IN ADVANCE! No spontaneous orders possible on the day of delivery. Delivery or collection on Easter Sunday and Easter Monday at noon. If you have any problems ordering or with the time, please contact us via Contact form.
The Bentō will cost 75 euros including soup and dessert - more information will be added in the next few days.
ATTENTION: No sushi orders possible at lunchtime, so even if you can order it in the store, we can't do it.
You have the choice of ordering the Bentō in the typical Japanese reusable box with a deposit or without a deposit in Japanese disposable packaging.
A bento menu with soup and dessert is intended for one person, with all the little things to discover individually. But of course two people can also share a bento and eat something else with it or order soup and dessert separately.
If you have any further questions or requests, please contact us via the Contact form. Attention, of course no sushi, sashimi etc. available at lunchtime!
At Whitsun, early summer shows its light, green side. This Bentō combines classic Japanese preparations with seasonal vegetables: green asparagus, young turnips, bamboo shoots, eggplant, sweet potato and broccoli meet salmon, prawns, pork, chicken and sushi.
The result is a varied bentō between freshness, umami, crispy tempura and gently braised flavors.
Anyone who knows our Bentō knows that it's not about simply filling up, but about discovering lots of little delicacies one by one.
Early summer at Bentō - Japanese flavors at Pentecost
Whitsun is a special time of year: spring is still noticeable, but summer is already on the horizon. Young vegetables, fresh green colors and light, clear aromas characterize this Bentō.
It combines different sides of Japanese cuisine: sweet and sour marinated salmon, hearty miso, soft nimono, crispy tempura and aromatic rice.
Salmon Nanban
Tender nanban-style salmon: slightly sour, aromatic and invigorating.
Nanban preparations bring a fine balance of spice, acidity and sweetness to the bentō. This makes the salmon appear fresh and round at the same time - a nice prelude to the different flavors of the box.
Nimono with bamboo shoots, carrot, kōya-dōfu and broccoli
A calm, classic component of Japanese cuisine: gently braised vegetables and kōya dōfu in dashi.
In Japan, bamboo shoots are strongly associated with spring and early summer. Together with carrot, broccoli and kōya dōfu, it creates a mild, deep aroma that gives the bentō a sense of calm and balance.
Kōya-Dōfu is freeze-dried tofu that absorbs the flavor of the broth particularly well when stewed.
Miso-grilled straw pork
Hearty, aromatic and full of umami: pork, grilled with miso.
The miso adds depth and a subtle spiciness without being too heavy. It goes well with finely chopped cabbage and grilled small turnips, which give the dish freshness and lightness.
Grilled small turnips
Small kabu or turnips are tender, mild and slightly sweet.
When grilled, they develop a fine roasted aroma and go very well with miso, pork and the fresher elements of bento.
Konnyaku with yuzu miso dengaku
Konnyaku is a traditional Japanese specialty with a special, slightly elastic texture.
Here it is combined with yuzu miso dengaku: an aromatic miso sauce with the fresh citrus note of yuzu. This creates a small, characterful accent in the bentō - spicy, fresh and typically Japanese.
Tempura of green asparagus, prawn, eggplant and sweet potato
Crispy tempura is one of the most beautiful forms of Japanese lightness.
For this Bentō, we are planning a selection of green asparagus, shrimp, eggplant and sweet potato. The green asparagus brings seasonal freshness, the prawn a subtle sweetness, eggplant a soft depth and sweet potato a gentle, natural sweetness.
This creates a tempura tray with different textures and flavors.
Chicken Rice
Aromatic chicken rice, lovingly arranged in the shape of plum blossoms.
Maki Sushi
Of course, sushi is also a must at Bentō.
Maki Sushi complements the warm, braised and grilled dishes with a clear, familiar Japanese note. It brings structure and freshness to the box and harmoniously rounds off the bento.
